Ticket sales jobs aren’t the only sales jobs with professional sports teams. Stadium suite/group ticket sales account executives are responsible for generating and increasing revenue through the sale of group outings (suites and club seating) to games through relationships using a current and prospective organization base. This position is also often responsible for soliciting appointments as a business entertainment consultant in order to maximize relationship development, while selling suite tickets, partial plans, group tickets and promotional ticket packages to local businesses, organizations and individuals.
Suite account executives report to the suite sales director and follow up with clients or solicit appointments in order to maximize relationship development while selling traditional, theme and special group ticket packages. Some additional responsibilities include; aggressively prospecting and generating leads and cold calling from provided lists, providing superior customer service and being able to problem solve in a timely manner with clients, existing ticket holders, and prospects, and achieving pre-determined monthly and annual sales goals.
One minor difference between general ticket sales staff and suite sales staff is that suite sales requires creative traits that will assist with the creation of new programs and ideas to increase ticket revenue. Most suite sales staff also have a bachelor’s degree as well as significantly more sales experience compared to general ticket sales staff members.
As with most sales jobs, this position requires a demonstrated ability to work independently, self-motivate, and thrive in a competitive environment. Suite sales staff must have a strong desire to succeed and advance combined with an eagerness to learn.
These salaries are not static and vary dependent upon many factors such as years of practice, education level, geographic region and team reputation.
